Redcat Volcano RC Monster Truck Problem?
Nigel asks:
My brother recently bought a new rc truck and we are very new to the sport. We broke it in and the engine runs great. The problem is that now the front wheels are spinning and the back wheels aren’t. It is a
4WD truck and all of the gears and the axel into the back gearbox is spinning, but tires don’t move. We think it is probably a stripped gear in the back gearbox, but are trying to check around before tearing it apart.

what i do is i take the casing off and take pictures of the THING before you go any deeper and do that progressively. But usually you can tell what the problem is quickly if it is obvious.

Try to turn the back wheels by hand, you should see all the driveshafts spinning if everything is ok.
If not it could be either a damaged rear diff or damaged bearings on the rear diff. It could even be that the grease inside the rear diff has dried out or worn away. You’ll find out quickly when you investigate further.
Before you put everything back together, check to make sure there is plenty of grease inside the diff. If not, clean all the grease off and put fresh grease on it. You can get a tube fairly cheap from your hobbyshop or online.
