Using the wraith axles was a clever idea, the diffs are locked or free ?

Thanks! I hope to keep putting this type of content out there for a long
time. I’m a racer and I truly enjoy going to the track on weekends, but I
really love showing the wide range of RC and the true hobby aspect.–Matt

Matt can you put a truck body on that Clod killer and shoot a vid or a pic?
I’d like to see how a WK chassis wraith axle build looks with a cab and bed.

Thank you. The diffs are open diffs. The parts to make the open diffs are
from the Axial EXO Terra buggy.–Matt Higgins

Thanks Matt..Im glad you are showcasing the Solid Axle trucks and MT
racing..shows people that these trucks are still bein built and they are
fun to race.. I hope more people continue to build these trucks

Yes thats wat I was telling James, you really have to use the brakes on the
Clod to get it to swing thru the turns. When I originally built that Clod
you have I used wheely king shocks on those CPE machined lower links,
allowed the truck to squat on acceleration and braking.

I attached a video reponse of how the truck looked when I first built it

I noticed the same thing. One of the things I have been practicing is
actually using the brakes on my Clod. On my truck, there’s a fine line
between bring the truck to a stop and hitting the brakes hard enough to get
enough weight transfer. I may try to get softer springs up front to get the
nose to dive easier.

Ive noticed that you have to drive the Shafties different from the
Clod…becuase of the MOA design the truck handles very different..I have a
Modded Ground Pounder, TXT on a Ground Pounder chassis and a Clod Pounder
and the Clod handles and drives completely different. Ive noticed the Clod
really relies on breaks to push the nose down and swing thru the turns..The
shafties you can flat track around the turn a little easier.

I’ve seen photos of it before. It’s cool to see it in action. That truck
looked awesome when you had it, by the way.

You can really see the difference in how the axial based truck soaks up the
landing from that first jump and how well it takes that first corner
compared to the clodbuster. The Clod bounces on landing and pushes like
crazy through that turn!

The Wraith based one does handle well. I am going to try standing the
shocks up vertical and see if that makes the handling even better. I am
going to keep working on that Clod Buster too. A gearing change should help
be a little quicker, but I have to figure out that steering. It turns like
a dump truck with flat tires.–Matt Higgins
