It wasn’t just dumping it out the bottom. That looks like a built in sifter for removing larger rocks from gravel. If u notice after each bucketful he dumps the rest of the oversized bucket on the right, the goes for another bucketful to the left. My father patented a similar idea, except his was a sifter “thumb” that had a vibrating motor on the side, and it was wired so when you went to dump the bucket, u would hold the thumb button to keep it closed, which also activated the vibra
