None of the Tamiya Clod Busters in the regular racing class use the stock plastic chassis. Many people use aftermarket chassis kits from Crawford Performance Engineering (CPE), ZRP or others. Many others also use Redcat Racing Ground Pounder chassis plates. The same goes for the guys running Tamiya TXT-1 trucks, but from what I have seen, most people running Ground Pounders just use the stock aluminum plates.–Matt Higgins
go to the rc truckstop main page and look for the clod killer article it is full of information you will need to build a great truck. i myself have read and read Matt’s article and plan to build my own truck to run no limit rc worlds in 2014 . also you could join solid axle shaft monster truck on facebook or RCMT for help when you get stuck on your build

William is right. You could run wideners. I added wideners to my AR60 axles to get the stance even wider.–Matt Higgins
