I have seen videos of real snowmobiles and dirt motorcycles with regular tires ride across lakes. Like the real motorcycle, you would have to have a very smooth and flat entry down to the water level.
I don’t know how fast the motorcycle was going or how fast you might have to go with an RC truck to make it all the way across the water, but if you try it, you should know pretty quickly if you are not going fast enough!
In the end, why try it unless you are bent on the possibility of sinking your RC truck? Can you afford such a rather senseless loss? If you do try it, at least make a video of it! I still remember the video of the RC car that jumped the house. That was pretty amazing.
