Cut out one color at a time. Spray light coats and it shouldn’t bleed under.–Matt Higgins

Hi there when you cut out your design do you cut all the markings out in one go?? does the paint not bleed under the cut lines of the other lines?? If you do the one colur at a time it would be hard if not impossible to see would it not

Exactly. Clear Lexan bodies get painted on the inside. The clear body works like a think clear coat and makes the finished paint job to come out really glossy. Having the paint on the inside also protects the paint.–Matt Higgins

If you painted the real deal, odds are you’ll do fine. The biggest mistake people make is to put the coats on too thick. Light coats equal good results. Oh, and the colors go on the opposite that a full-size multicolor paint job would be sprayed. With Lexan, spray darkest colors first. Good luck and thanks for watching the video! Make sure you also check out the article “How-to: Paint a Simple Multicolor Body” at the RC Truck Stop main site.–Matt Higgins

This seems to be some good information. I feel better about starting my first (RC) paint job now. Ironic that I hardly thought twice before spraying my real car (In a booth with proper tools, of course) but I haven’t wanted to risk ruining a $25 lexan RC body. Small scale, single piece, and multiple layers/colours make it seem more daunting.

Make sure that you: 1) Clean the body with warm soapy water and let it dry before painting, 2) Don’t put each coat of paint on too thick and 3) Use Lexan specific paint. Hope that helps.–Matt Higgins

The beauty of liquid mask is it pretty hard to use too much. The thicker it is the longer it will take to dry, but it will also be easier to peel.–Matt Higgins

Sometimes it doesn’t take a full day. It all depends on weather conditions and how thick you put it up. You’ll see it change color as it dries.–Matt Higgins
